There are hints that it has attempted to gain primacy in the past, and then there's the whole meta thing of Beholding = unceasing observer = the audience to take into account...We just don't know yet. Fan theories can often end up more interesting than the canon.

I feel like you've still got an ideal answer to that 'cosmic horror' question loaded up though. Fear is a relation to something, recursion doesn't get you many places that are narratively interesting.
2)Good characters, spooky stories, everything is connected. I filled up pages worth of notes and then tossed them out realizing that I had been looking in the wrong places the entire time.
3) I can't overstate how big of a benefit "everything is tied together" is. There are plot threads that get delivered on a hundred episodes later. Even when you feel like you have a handle on things, revelations crop up that recontextualize everything that came before.
4) Yes.
5) Yes. I could start dropping spoilers left and right and without context they'd be almost completely meaningless. All the stuff I've written here is a pale reflection. It's also a damn good listen - when I started I was binging 10 episodes a day.Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00694362417308874455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3372693484053299675.post-13801215230723296592019-05-24T18:37:53.042-04:002019-05-24T18:37:53.042-04:00Wot about a Power that's the fear of fear itse...Wot about a Power that's the fear of fear itself?

What is the appeal of this setting/mythology to you? The modern paranormal setting lends itself well to horror, but horror within those trappings.

Mothership is geared a bit more towards "ordinary people stuck in a horrible situation" than dungeon crawl. So you can easily use it for modern horror instead of space horror (I have another post cooking about that very thing), but it's not going to be the same kind of game - Sean likes to say that every monster in MS should be designed and treated as a boss.Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00694362417308874455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3372693484053299675.post-88482258956102835082019-05-24T07:24:08.215-04:002019-05-24T07:24:08.215-04:00That feels like it would fall under the umbrella o...That feels like it would fall under the umbrella of the Lonely - unable to form connections with people over the quality or perceived quality of a work.
